Microsoft will buy the RIM or Nokia;

n an effort to penetrate the mobile phone market, Microsoft could buy a handset maker. It mentions an American analyst citing sources from within the high-growth software company.

"At Microsoft are discussing the possible acquisition of Nokia or Research in Motion (RIM)" said in Reuters The Toan Tran, analyst at Morningstar. And to be able to compete in that space, Microsoft should start to build its own mobile phones.

As to Reuters, Microsoft's operating on mobile phones is not convincing so far. And if the new version, Windows Phone 7, do not deliver the expected results then Microsoft must find alternative ways to strengthen its position in this market. And he says the analyst "People want portable devices to operate simply and no more complex than a PC".

Microsoft has not yet commented on these rumors.
