Huawei Ideos X5 and X6 Review

We were big fans of the Huawei Ideos, so much so that we awarded it our prestigious Editors' Choice award back in September. So we're glad to have unearthed two brand new Android phones from the manufacturer with the unpronounceable name at CES 2011 in Las Vegas -- the Ideos X5 and X6 (pictured above). Click through the photos above to check them out, and read on to learn more about these stylish smartphones.

The Ideos X5 is a fancy little number with a rounded edges, and a petite design. Underneath the screen you'll find four touch-sensitive buttons common to Android phones -- back, menu, home and search. These are used to navigate through Android's interface.

The X5 is running on version 2.2 (Froyo) of Google's Android operating system. That's not the most recent version of Android (that's 2.3 at the time of writing), but it does mean you get Flash support, so you can watch Flash videos on the phone's browser, and there's nothing to say the X5 couldn't get an update to a newer version of Android in the future.

The display is a 3.8-inch WVGA affair, and as you can tell from our photos, it's looking really bright and clear, which is great to see, and should make watching video or looking at pictures most enjoyable. The X5 is powered by a Qualcomm 7230 CPU, which we believe is clocked at 800MHz. We're seeing a lot of phones now that run at 1GHz, but that doesn't mean the X5 is slow -- indeed it felt perfectly speedy when we were using it, and a less-than-highest-spec processor might just help keep the price of the handset down.

There's a five-megapixel camera round the back with LED flash that can also shoot 720p video.

As for the X6, This is a marginally higher-spec mobile. It's still running Android 2.2, but it has one of those newfangled 1GHz processors powering it, and a great big 4.1-inch touchscreen.

Just like the X5, the X6 has a five-megapixel camera that can handle 720p video recording, but this clever phone also has an HDMI output, so you can export what you're seeing on the phone to an HD telly, which could come in handy for watching movies and so on.

We're most intrigued by the squarish design however -- we really liked the feel of this handset, with its pointy corners and rectangular sensibilities. It's a good looking mobile and no mistake.

Both of these phones are looking rather spiffy, and miles more attractive than the first Ideos. The bad news is that Huawei haven't yet made any agreements with UK carriers to distribute the phones, but we'd wager it'll wash up on British shores somehow. Stay tuned.

Available 3D televisions from Samsung

While the Europeans will have to wait to see them yet, released in America, already on the market first 3D TVs in Samsung. The Amazon.com has both models UN55C7000, operating at 240Hz and support the 3D. TVs operating at 1080p resolution and feature four slots HDMI.

Of course this is the version 1.3 of HDMI, which supports the 3D restricted. The price of televisions in 55 "at around 2,500 euros (excluding tax). Besides, the market requires extra glasses 3D.

But the American Sears store has the smallest "brother", namely the Samsung UN46C7000 to 46. "The price of this TV which likewise supports the 3D, is about 2,000 euros (excluding tax).

The Thunderbird is safest

The Mozilla released an update for Thunderbird, which is the upgrade to version 3.0.2By closing a number of critical security gaps and addressing any problems of instability.

Total dealt with update 120 bugs the previous version. For example disabledFor security reasons, DNS-Prefetching. This operation could take advantage of the spammers to see if an email is read or not.

Additional problems were encountered related to accounts IMAP. Even the program sustained improvements that simplify upgrading from version 2 to version 3.

The Thunderbird 3.0.2 can be download by Mozilla in versions for different platforms.

Held in Athens in the first Apple Roadshow on Final Cut & Logic Studio

The iSquare, official distributor of Apple products in Greece and Cyprus, announced that it was a great success, Wednesday, February 17, 2010, the Pro Studio Series 2010, an event dedicated to professional applications on Apple's video (Final Cut Studio) and audio ( Logic Studio).

During the event, presented many of the new features of these applications, specialized speakers from Apple. Participation by professionals in the field of video and music was very big and attendees had the opportunity to experience up close the latest developments in video production and music creation technology in Mac and to experience the Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio.

Also during the event, talked about their experiences known as distinguished users of such software, such as composer Kostas pike and the Director of Photography and International Relations Secretary ETEKTOT, Angelos Viskadourakis.

At the event was a report from resellers and partners iSquare and attendees had the opportunity to experience many third-party integrated solutions in conjunction with the products of Apple, and to acquire the popular suite of software at a premium price.

The iSquare will continue its efforts to bring products and solutions of Apple closer to Greek users.

Apparu exapyrinoi Intel Core i7 980

Ils sont apparus sur les listes de distributeurs européens exapyrinoi les nouveaux processeurs Intel Core i7 appelé 980 (Exteme Edition). Dans ces listes ont indiqué que les transformateurs sont fabriqués avec la technologie de 32 nm, exécutez le 3,33 GHz et équipé de 12MV mémoire cache L3.

Grâce Hyperthreading le processeur peut traiter simultanément jusqu'à 12 threads. Pour Turbo Boost permet des fréquences de fonctionnement allant jusqu'à 3,6 GHz - ce qui ne peut probablement pas se faire simultanément pour toutes les carottes. Le contrôleur de mémoire intégré en charge la mémoire DDR3 jusqu'à 1.066MHz, et les montants objectif de prix à 1,099 euros.

Toutefois, le Core i7 980 Extreme Edition n'est pas encore disponible. Devraient entrer sur le marché à partir de Mars 14 onwards.
